Meet Al C. Mendoza
Mr. Mendoza has been in the floral industry over 45 years. Mr. Mendoza has owned a retail flower shop for 25 years in the Chicago area. During this period, he was an active member and served as past president of the Illiania Unit of Teleflora and has held other board member positions in the floral industry. As a field service director for Teleflora, Mr. Mendoza was able to work with Florists across the country.
His experience includes Assistant Director of the American Floral Art School in Chicago for 15 years, Mr. Mendoza then opened the American International Academy of Floral Design, Ltd. In Chicago, where he was owner and Educational Director. The American International Academy has branches in Puerto Rico, Korea, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Singapore. He has taught and lectured all over the world.
Some of the highlights of his career have included working on the flowers for both the Academy Awards and the Rose Bowl floats. He has won many major awards for his creativity and design.
His experience also includes consulting for some of the major flower growers in Miami and South America. He has worked with the all of the major Mass Merchandisers and has shared his expertise and knowledge. As an instructor he has given many seminars and hands on classes to help productivity, designs and sales. This seminars and classes are custom designed to fit the needs of each company.
Mr. Mendoza in the past has worked full time with the Elite Flower in Miami, Florida for over 12 years.
He is currently with Flowers by Eco, Miami, FL as Director of Sales and Marketing, handling accounts needs and coordinating various projects and shows.
Some of Mr. Mendoza’s responsibilities are to provide product development and to create new looks and designs. Also working closely with Eco’s customers to provide training and educational seminars and to assist in what ever their needs may be in order to create a more profitable operation.
